Meet Dr. Lifschutz.

Dr. David H. Lifschutz is a board-certified psychiatrist and clinical psychopharmacologist.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Dr. Lifschutz completed his psychiatric residency and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California (USC) Medical Center. He also has seven years of training as a Psychoanalyst at the NYU Postdoctoral Program for Psychoanalysis.

While training at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center in the 60s, he became caught up in the rising interest in psychedelic drugs. In October 2019, as a product of this curiosity, Dr. Lifschutz trained in the administration of Ketamine. He then was fortunate to be accepted to the MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) training program for MDMA Assisted Psychotherapy once MDMA is legalized. Additionally, he is trained in Harm Reduction and the Integration of psychedelic drugs. Integration refers to helping individuals make sense out of a past psychedelic experience. Harm Reduction refers to consulting with individuals who are curious about psychedelic drug use and desire guidance in discerning where their interests stem from and how to pursue their interests in a safe manner. We do not recommend nor prescribe any psychedelic drugs that are currently illegal.

Dr. Lifschutz is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, as well as a member of the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry, and American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

Clients often say that his honest, straightforward, and compassionate style has helped them achieve a level of confidence and strength they had not known before and that he has given them the peace of mind they need to move ahead with their lives.

Dr. Lifschutz is an attending staff psychiatrist at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital, where he also supervises psychiatry residents. He currently offers teletherapy and limited in-person appointments at his office in New York City in the Upper East Side.
